Kevin Durant was in a groove on Monday during the Golden State Warriors’ 119-106 win over the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. The former league MVP scattered 37 points on 14-for-27 shooting in 40 minutes of action. Those 40 minutes, however, were not enough for Durant to satisfy his competitive cravings as he did not like Warriors head coach Steve Kerr taking him out in the third quarter.
Kerr, meanwhile, offered an explanation to his star forward’s attitude whenever he goes to the bench during the postgame interviews, per Ben Golliver of Sports Illustrated.

Durant, however, played close to three minutes more than his average in these playoffs. He is on the floor 37.1 minutes per game in the postseason and is averaging 28.8 points on 49.6 percent shooting, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
Perhaps Durant can just vent his frustration on the Rockets in Game 2 this Wednesday, as the Warriors take aim at a 2-0 series lead before traveling back home for Games 3 and 4. The Warriors, who are putting up 111.1 points this postseason, has won both of their last two road games. They are also now 4-1 in their last five trips to Toyota Center in Houston.
