In the 2021 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors had two first-round lottery picks. Their first selection was the super talented Jonathan Kuminga, who they chose with the 7th pick, then their 14th pick was one of the best shooters in the draft class, Moses Moody.

Steve Kerr is satisfied with the progression of both of his rookies, but before the game against the Utah Jazz, he talked about how Kuminga was navigating through the season.

“He’s a typical rookie,” the Warriors coach told ClutchPoints. “Everything’s coming really fast, and he has his good moments and he has some low moments, and everything in-between, and another practice the next day and a game after that and it’s just really about going through the whole season and understanding those ups and downs, and maintaining an effort and concentration and focus in order to take the steps consistently to get better.”

There is one thing Kuminga has that most rookies don't, and that's a bunch of people with NBA championship DNA. Between Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Kevon Looney, Klay Thompson, and Steve Kerr, there is a ton of knowledge is available at all times.

The high-flying Warriors rookie is averaging 6.5 points and 2.4 rebounds this season, and he scored a career-high 26 points against the Toronto Raptors. No matter the outcome, Kuminga is working hard every day and his demeanor never really changes, that's one thing Kerr likes about him and it will help him in the long run.

The Warriors have won five of their last six games in the Bay Area, improving to 21-4 after defeating the Jazz at the Chase Center, and that's the best home record in the NBA.
