Many have wondered whether or not Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton is going to make it through the season, but Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr thinks Walton is just fine at the helm:

“I know him so well. He's cut out for this,” said Kerr of Walton, according to Mark Medina of The Mercury News. “He's got the perfect temperament to deal with the ups and downs of an NBA season and the drama that goes on and everything else. I think he's doing a great job, and with all of the injuries they've had, I think they're probably where they're supposed to be.”

Kerr also added that when healthy, the Lakers are a good team, noting how good they looked upon routing the Warriors on Christmas.

He was then asked about how much Walton's interim experience as Warriors coach during the 2015-16 campaign helped him prepare for the task of being a full-time head coach, and Kerr said that it certainly helped.

“I have no doubt, as I said, he's just cut out for this job,” said Kerr.

Walton led the Warriors to a 39-4 start during that aforementioned historic 73-win season, filling in for Kerr while he Kerr was recovering from a back issue.

That ensuing summer, Walton was hired as head coach of the Lakers, and since the, he has gone 86-125.

This season, Los Angeles owns a record of 25-22 but has recently been playing without LeBron James and Rajon Rondo, both of whom have been dealing with their own respective injuries. Lonzo Ball will now also be sidelined after spraining his ankle on Saturday.

The Warriors will face the Lakers on Monday evening.
