Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told local reporters on Tuesday he is hopeful All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson will be available on Friday when the Dubs take on the Denver Nuggets at Oracle Arena.

Thompson is dealing with right knee soreness. He missed the Warriors' previous game against the Philadelphia 76ers in Philly and won't play on Tuesday versus the Boston Celtics.

Thompson underwent an MRI and the results showed no structural damage, which was a huge sigh of relief for Golden State.

The sharpshooter is averaging 22.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game this season for the Dubs while shooting 47.0 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Warriors need a healthy and fresh Klay Thompson if they want to win their third straight NBA championship.

Golden State is cruising along just fine this season. They entered Tuesday with a record of 44-19, good for first place in the Western Conference standings. Thompson is third on the Dubs in scoring behind stars Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

Klay becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer, but literally no one in Golden State expects him to bolt the Warriors.

The Dubs have won three titles in four years and will likely win it all again this season.
