The Golden State Warriors are set to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder for the first time this season, which will mark just the third time that Kevin Durant will play back in Cheasepeake Energy Arena.

The first go-arounds last season, there was plenty of amped-up energy directed toward Durant that made for some testy games. With that in mind, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr voiced on Tuesday that he hopes the environment will be a little different this around.

Kerr may be hoping for a more calm atmosphere, but it may work against him as this could lead the fans looking to make it uncomfortable for Durant every time he touches the ball or takes a shot. That said, Durant was able to perform quite well through it all averaging 37.7 points on 65.6 percent shooting from the field and 62.5 percent from beyond the arc with 9.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.

This includes Durant scoring more than 30 points in each contest with the Warriors winning each contest by a comfortable margin. In fact, his 37.7 points per game against Oklahoma City is the highest average he had going up any team last season.

On top of that, Durant has already stated that he will tune out the noise and potential distraction from fans during the game. All of this should add up to what should be another entertaining chapter to him taking the court back in Oklahoma City against his former longtime teammate Russell Westbrook.
