Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr could only hope fans also see Steph Curry's other abilities aside from scoring in bunches.

For years, Steph Curry has been known for his out-of-this-world scoring arsenal. This has also been the reason why some Warriors fans do not notice his improved defensive qualities.

Sharing his thoughts on the subject, coach Kerr reckoned that Curry has been remarkable on the defensive end “all year.”

However, Kerr also pointed out that people should realize that Curry's apparent “reputation of being a poor defender” is nothing but a bold claim as it is not what he sees from the two-time NBA scoring champ

“He’s been great defensively all year, and I hope people are recognizing it.” Kerr said after Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Clippers via NBC Sports.

“Everyone obviously locks in on his offensive brilliance, which they should, but he had six steals [Sunday],” the coach stressed. “Eight deflections. He’s all over the place. For whatever reason, he has a reputation of being a poor defender. I don’t see that at all. I think he’s a really good defender and he’s been great defensively.”

Indeed, stats back Kerr's analysis of Curry. To date, the Warriors superstar is boasting a career-best 96.9 defensive rating and has made it to the top 15 in the league in steals while at top 22 in deflections.

Surely, it will be a huge bonus if Curry can maintain his impressive defense throughout the entire season. However, one thing certain is that the Warriors will still have to rely on his scoring primarily.
