Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr cleared up any questions surrounding the shooting abilities of Klay Thompson upon his return from a string of injuries.

Thompson is sorely missed by the up-and-down Warriors and his much-awaited return will definitely be a huge boost. But while some are worried that Thompson might have some rust, Kerr isn’t one of them (via Monte Poole of NBCS).

The 31-year-old Thompson has been sidelined for the second consecutive season after sustaining two severe injuries in consecutive years. The first came during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals between the Warriors and the Toronto Raptors, as he landed awkwardly after being fouled on a dunk attempt. It was determined after he underwent medical attention that he tore his ACL.

The second injury occurred while Thompson’s rehabilitating his ACL, which kept him off the court for the entire 2019-20 NBA season. The hot-shooting swingman was going through his offseason workouts when he tore his left Achilles tendon, sidelining him for the second year in a row.

Kerr’s confidence in his All-Star sniper is not without merit, as a video of Thompson knocking down consecutive corner three-pointers recently went viral. Even though he is still unable to jump, the shooting savant has no trouble sinking his shots.

Klay Thompson is one of the greatest shooters of all time, boasting a blistering 41.9 percent career three-point shooting clip on seven attempts per game, with a career high of 44 percent. He may not be able to move like he did before, but he will always be cash from long distance.

Steve Kerr is somewhere out there, nodding in agreement.
