Back on March 25, the Golden State Warriors ruled James Wiseman out for the season. He missed the entire regular season due to a torn meniscus he suffered in April of 2021. Wiseman had surgery to repair the injury and was making great progress, but never made his season debut.

Over a month after he was ruled out for the season, the Warriors' season is still very much alive. They are tied 1-1 in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Memphis Grizzlies. According to Steve Kerr, Wiseman has been as active as possible in the postseason. He travels with the team and absorbs as much as he can.

However, this doesn't mean that Wiseman's injury designation for the remainder of the season is any different. Kerr told the media that Golden State is not reconsidering this decision, no matter how long the Warriors' season goes.

ESPN writer Marc J. Spears tweeted the news Friday afternoon.

This is a bittersweet update for the young center. It would be irresponsible to have a 21-year-old play and risk further injuring a serious injury. However, there's no doubt that he would love to experience the thrill of playing in the postseason with his teammates.

The Warriors' series against the Grizzlies continues with Game 3 Friday night in San Francisco. Wiseman will be courtside, cheering on his teammates and taking in the playoff atmosphere in preparation for next season.
