The Golden State Warriors are in a serious slump right now, losing four of their last five games. Draymond Green's absence has definitely played a huge part in their poor play, but it appears he won't return to the team on this current road trip.

Head coach Steve Kerr provided a hopeful update on the Warriors veteran ahead of their matchup with the Chicago Bulls on Friday.

Via The Athletic's Anthony Slater:

After Chicago, the Warriors face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday before returning home for seven straight games. Golden State is currently the best defensive team in the Association and Green is the leading catalyst in that category. His ability to lock down opponents on a nightly basis is unmatched. On the offensive side of the ball, Draymond is arguably the Dubs' best playmaker as well, dishing out 7.4 assists per night.

Green started for the Warriors on Sunday against the Cavs, but it was only for the first few seconds of the game because he wanted to be on the floor for Klay Thompson's debut. He hasn't suited up since due to a calf injury.

Aside from his contributions on both ends, Green is the leader of this team. When he runs the offense, it allows the likes of Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins to thrive from a scoring standpoint. Right now, Steph is not only cold but he's also being forced to be their top playmaker.

The Warriors need Draymond back badly. Let's hope Tuesday is the day he returns.
