During the Golden State Warriors' home game against the Los Angeles Lakers, there were a number of Laker fans in attendance who were heard chanting “We want Thompson” in multiple occasions during the game.

They were trying to get the attention of Warriors guard Klay Thompson, who's set to become a free agent this summer and is rumored to be interested in joining the Lakers.

While Thompson himself said he did not hear the chants, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was well aware of what happened, and he addressed the matter during postgame interviews.

Of course, Laker fans are expected to show him love, despite the fact that he torched the team they're rooting for once again. He had 28 points and five rebounds to help the Warriors get a 115-101 win against the visiting team from Los Angeles.

Less than a week ago, he had 41 points against them at Staples Center.

The Warriors remain in the hunt for their third straight title, and Thompson remains focused on the task at hand. However, their core's fate after this season is still up in the air. Thompson has said that he plans to spend his entire career with the Warriors, but there are also rumors that he's intrigued by the Lakers, and will give them consideration, especially if they acquire Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans. Then there's Kevin Durant and the New York Knicks who have been connected with him for several months already.

Everyone is playing the waiting game right now. But for Klay, his goal this season has and will never change.

Win that third chip.
