While the whole Los Angeles Lakers fanbase was crying after the departure of Alex Caruso, one man was apparently all smiles: Steve Kerr. And who could blame him? The Golden State Warriors coach knows how big of a difference the guard brought to the Purple and Gold.

Before the Warriors' showdown with the Chicago Bulls on Friday, reporters asked Kerr about his thoughts on Caruso. The Warriors tactician didn't hold back as he expressed his joy that the veteran guard left Los Angeles and the Western Conference to move to the East.

“He’s great. I was really happy to see him go to the Eastern Conference,” Kerr said of Caruso, per Robert Schaefer of NBC Sports.

Of course the Warriors still have to face the Bulls, but at least they won't have to meet Alex Caruso a lot. Golden State plays Chicago just twice this season–including Friday's game–while they have four games against the Lakers.

For what it's worth, it doesn't look like Caruso will have regrets leaving the Lakers for the Bulls. Aside from a better salary that secures him financially, he has also an improved role with the team. Sure he still serves as a sparkplug off the bench, but he features more prominently for a Windy City squad headed by Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball and Nikola Vucevic.

At least both Kerr and Caruso are happy!
