The Golden State Warriors bolstered their front court with the signing of free agent center Andrew Bogut. He's not there to give them massive minutes however, and he apparently knows that.

According to head coach Steve Kerr, Bogut is joining the Dubs with the expectation that he'll play sparingly,

This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Andrew Bogut played in just 23 NBA games in the 2017-18 season and 27 the year before that.

After not playing in the league all season, it makes sense that the Warriors will want to gently ease him into playing time. Even when he does get reintroduced however, don't expect much.

The 34-year-old joined the Warriors to give them depth at a position that's had injury problems this year. That would mainly be DeMarcus Cousins, who's appeared in just 17 games so far.

Bogut is someone who knows the team and the system. He was with the Warriors from 2012-13 to 2015-16. The big man gives them someone who will play his role on offense and be a threat on the glass and defensively.

However, head coach Steve Kerr himself makes it known that this is a move more for injury.

Bogut didn't play enough last season (nine minutes per contest) to really analyze his numbers. However, in 2016-17, the now-34-year-old played for 22.4 minutes per game and ripped down 8.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per contest.

He's still extremely valuable to a team, especially one like the Warriors. They don't need any extra scoring threats, but having a big body like his to protect the rim and gobble up rebounds could be invaluable.

This might not seem like a big signing, especially after Kerr's comments on his playing time. That could change quickly, though, once Bogut reminds everyone that he doesn't need a lot of time to make an impact.
