DeMarcus Cousins' road to full health hasn't been an easy one, and while he's still adapting to playing with the Golden State Warriors, the hardest part of it is already past him.

Cousins signed with the Warriors, who could give him a full recovery, with no necessity to rush him back before he was 100 percent — but that wouldn't keep him from trying to take the court after suffering an Achilles injury in late January 2018.

“I’ll be dead honest with you and you can print this: he was a pain in the ass when we were trying to get him ready and scrimmage,” said head coach Steve Kerr, laughing, according to Tim Kawakami of The Athletic. “He was just so angry, because he wasn’t playing.

“He was just in a bad mood because he’s a passionate, emotional person and you think about what was taken away with the injury, not just the playing time and the joy of being out there, but the contract that he was looking at. His life got turned upside down.”

Cousins has even shown signs of frustration for not finishing games when he first returned from injury, and while he had a sparkling return to the court, his energy and conditioning has started to catch up with him.

His explosiveness and athleticism are still not quite where they used to be and to get them back, it will require even that much more patience from Cousins as his body returns to form.
