Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says it’s possible star small forward Kevin Durant gets back on the court at some point over the next seven days to begin on-court work.

Durant hasn't done any on-court work since suffering a right calf strain in Game 5 of the Warriors' second round series against the Houston Rockets:

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is on May 30. The Warriors have already effectively ruled Durant out for Game 1. Golden State will face the winner of the Milwaukee Bucks-Toronto Raptors series.

Durant was averaging 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists in the playoffs before he got hurt. The two-time Finals MVP was shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 41.6 percent from beyond the arc and 90.1 percent from the free-throw line.

The Warriors have gone 5-0 since Durant went down. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have carried the load on offense just like the old days before KD joined the Dubs. Sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers without Durant was impressive, but the Warriors will likely need the services of KD in the NBA Finals. Raptors star Kawhi Leonard and Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo are two elite players whom the Dubs don't have an answer for on both ends of the floor if Durant isn't in the lineup.
