The much-anticipated Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets showdown are full of headlines with the return of Kevin Durant, and Dubs head coach Steve Kerr gave his fair share of praise toward the new Brooklyn star.

Before Friday's showdown, Kerr recalled Durant's dominance during his time with the Warriors, per Nick Friedell of ESPN.

“I remember a level of basketball that I don't think has ever been reached before,” the Warriors coach said when asked what he'll remember the most about KD with Golden State.

It's no secret that the relationship between the two has always been a good one. Kevin Durant spent three years with the Warriors on their championship teams before he left to join the Nets.

Durant shot a career-best 53.7 percent in 2016 and averaged 25.1 points per game in his first year as a Warrior after leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Nets' new Big 3 of Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden has been the talk of the league, but the Warriors trio of Durant and the Splash Brothers was also a historic bunch.

Brooklyn is 15-12 and has had its share of issues regarding injuries and COVID-19, most recently with the Durant debacle last week. As for the Warriors, they have surprised many this season behind Stephen Curry's MBVP-level of play–as he is averaging over 30 points per game and has this team with a 14-12 record.

The two teams played each other on opening night, but Friday's showdown will be the first trip for Durant back where he won a couple of titles. Fans won't be there, and while some were livid about his departure, his time in Warriors town was some of the best in years for the city and the franchise.
