Golden State Warriors center Kevon Looney is progressing well from an abdomen issue but head coach Steve Kerr revealed that there is still no timetable for his return.

Per Warriors beat writer Connor Letourneau, Kerr said that the 23-year-old slotman, who has been out of commission for the Dubs' last 12 games, has resumed basketball-related activities.

“He's done more the last week. He's playing one-on-one right now on the practice floor. Rick (Celebrini) says he's coming along. I don't have a possible date for his return.”

One of the remaining remnants of the Warriors' dynasty, Looney has only seen the floor 10 times this season after dealing with a myriad of injuries. The 6-foot-9 UCLA product has been limited to just 2.6 points (34.4 percent shooting) and 2.9 rebounds in those appearances, suiting up in just 10.5 minutes per game.

A fearsome rebounder and formidable interior defender, Looney was rewarded by the Warriors with a three-year, $15 million deal over the summer. He normed 6.3 points on 62.5 percent shooting and 5.2 rebounds in 80 games last year, and played an even bigger role for Golden State come playoff time.

The Warriors are still dead last in the Western Conference with a 9-33 record and have lost their last nine games. Their lack of interior presence has been a big factor in their struggles. The Warriors' prized offseason acquisition Willie Cauley-Stein doesn't seem to fit well under coach Kerr's regime and has been given a significantly reduced role in the last few games. The team recently brought back athletic big Marquesse Chriss on a two-way contract, while the undersized Omari Spellman continues to soak up most of the minutes at the five position.
