As the Golden State Warriors prepare for their fifth straight NBA Finals, it appears as if head coach Steve Kerr is seeking out some coaching advice. He was spotted dining with coaching legend and current San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich in the Bay Area on Tuesday.

Katie Dowd of SFgate.com reported the two shared a meal at an Italian restaurant called Seven Hills:

The Warriors and Spurs head coaches were noticed by fellow diner Kat So, who tweeted a photo of the pair at popular Italian restaurant Seven Hills. The pair looked casual, Pop sporting a T-shirt and enjoying a no-doubt very expensive bottle of wine.

Kerr and Popovich have shared a long relationship. Kerr actually played for Popovich for two separate seasons, both with the Spurs. They won the NBA championship together twice, in the 1998-99 season and the 2003-04 season.

Since then, the two have kept in touch. Kerr has named Popovich as one of his biggest coaching influences, and it shows in his coaching style.

Interestingly enough, Popovich has connections to both teams in the Finals this year. Besides winning championships with Kerr, Pop has also won one with the best player on the opposing team, Kawhi Leonard.

There's no doubt Kerr picked Popovich's mind on Leonard's game and the best way to guard such a dynamic player.

We'll see what the Warriors throw at him in Game 1 of the Finals on Thursday at 6 PM PST.
