Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors were on the losing end of an absolute thriller against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night. By the looks of things, Curry won't be getting a chance to avenge the loss in their next game.

Golden State is reportedly sitting Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins for their one-game road trip to face the Denver Nuggets in Colorado. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke at length about the move following their loss to the Lakers.

“Yeah, we are not sending a lot of our players to Denver,” said the Warriors coach. “The decision was pretty easy. Throwing that game into the schedule the way the league did after that game was postponed and then going back to Denver. Three games in four nights with two of those games being in Denver going back and forth, we're not going to put our high minutes guys at risk.”

It's certainly an interesting move, but also an understandable one for the Warriors. The team is desperate for a win after losing four straight and eight of their last 10 games overall. However when you look at the bigger picture, Golden State is still 22 games over .500 at 43-21 and still have a hefty cushion for home-court advantage, even after factoring in the current losing streak.

Having Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson fly out to Denver, then back to Golden State on a back-to-back set, then back to Denver again in the span of four days is a brutal ask. Considering it came after the emotional roller coaster that was their loss to the Lakers, it looks that much more taxing.

Yes, the Dubs are still jockeying with the Memphis Grizzlies for the second seed. But attaining that advantage is secondary to ensuring that their stars are fresh when the postseason rolls around.
