This is the final season that the Golden State Warriors will play at Oracle Arena, which has served the franchise since the 1971-72 season. With their eventual move out of the raucous building in Oakland, head coach Steve Kerr wants to make this last dance at Oracle special:

“Without a doubt, it’s being here at Oracle the final season,” Kerr said per Tim Kawakami of The Athletic. “We talked about that the night before training camp opened. … We know we’re not moving that far, but we’re moving from this building, we’re moving from this city and that’s not an easy thing for anybody. So this season is all about finishing it the right way and doing it for the people in Oakland.”

The Warriors will move to the Chase Center in San Francisco for the 2019-20 season.

With their eventual departure, the Warriors want to give the people of Oakland another treat by hoisting up the Larry O'Brien Trophy inside Oracle Arena for one last time. In fact, Oracle has only seen one of the last three Warriors championship celebrations. The first title in 2015 and the most recent one last year saw Golden State close out on the road in Cleveland.

Make no mistake about it, the back-to-back champions are still the heavy favorite to win a third consecutive NBA championship this season. However, it still remains to be seen how their journey will look like getting there.

Will there be hurdles along the way, similar to what they faced in the form of the Houston Rockets last year? Or will it be an easy stroll to the finish line, similar to their 16-1 playoff run in 2017?
