Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was officially introduced by Grant Hill as the new men's basketball head coach for USA Basketball on Monday. Kerr will coach Team USA for the 2022-2024 cycle, which includes the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The Warriors head coach is taking over for Gregg Popovich and will be helped by an impressive coaching staff featuring Monty Williams, Erik Spoelstra and Mark Few.

With Warriors star Stephen Curry not participating in the most recent Olympics, which featured Team USA winning gold, many are wondering if he'll play in 2024. For all his accolades and honors, an Olympic gold medal is one thing Curry doesn't have. He'll be 36 years old at the time of those Paris Olympics, but barring injuries, there's no reason to think he won't still be playing at a high level.

Kerr addressed the possibility of Curry playing in those Olympics. Naturally, there were jokes:

That “healthy and wants to play” part is key for the Warriors sharpshooter. A lot can happen between now and those 2024 Olympics:

It would be great to see Steph Curry get that elusive Olympic gold medal. The Warriors star has two gold medals from FIBA World Cup action, but nothing from the Olympics. The 2012 Olympics happened before Curry blossomed into a full-blown superstar, and he was coming off an injury-plagued season. He chose not to play in 2016 after dealing with injuries in the playoffs, and then he opted against participating in these past Olympics as well.

Let's cross our fingers and hope Curry is able to give it a go in 2024.
