Since joining the Golden State Warriors in 2014, head coach Steve Kerr has already brought home three NBA titles to Oakland. This is why it is no surprise that along with signing Finals Most Valuable Player awardee Kevin Durant to an extension, tying up Kerr for the long run is also among the top priorities of the Warriors front office this summer.

It was the team's majority team owner Joe Lacob himself who confirmed this report, and he even went on to guarantee that a deal would be put in place sooner rather than later.

Kerr will be entering the final season of his five-year deal with the Warriors next term, and based on Lacob's statement, the team has no intention of letting him go anywhere. A lucrative deal may be in the works for the 52-year-old, but there will also be quite a number of factors in play, including concerns involving Kerr's health.

The Lebanon-born former NBA Coach of the Year Winner has faced a number of health issues in the past. Most notable was his absence from the sidelines for the better part of the 2015-16 regular season while he was recovering from off-season back surgery.

Although Kerr's back problems were not as troublesome this year, the head coach himself confirmed that he was not 100% healthy back in September. One of the hazards of the job is the tremendous stress it goes hand in hand with and it definitely takes its toll regardless of how successful your team may be. Surely this will be a factor in the longevity of Kerr's career, but hopefully it will not hold him back from taking part in building the Warriors dynasty.
