San Francisco, CA – Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals was a one-sided victory for the Golden State Warriors over the visiting Dallas Mavericks. The final score was 112-87, and the Dubs led almost from start to finish. Steve Kerr’s team dominated on both sides of the floor, and not once did they consider taking their foot off the gas.

The Warriors wanted to win and make a statement while doing so. On Wednesday, they did just that. There wasn't a single moment where it looked like the Mavs had a chance. Although the Warriors shot nearly 70 percent from inside the three-point line, coach Kerr jokingly wasn't satisfied.

“The ideal game is to shoot 70% from three actually,” Kerr told ClutchPoints. “But I thought we took what the defense gave us…A lot of our guys made those mid-rangers, and I think you have to make them in the playoffs.”

The Warriors shot 56.1 from the field and 34.5 percent from deep. As good as the offense was in Game 1, the defense was the real reason the Warriors ran away with this game.

Otto Porter Jr. was one of those guys knocking down mid-range jumpers. He got so hot in this game that when Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins were asked who the best midrange shooter was, Porter’s name was mentioned.

Porter Jr. finished the game with 10 points and six rebounds off of the Warriors bench. He's been a key addition to this team because he's another shooting threat. Now he's not only a threat to opposing teams, but he's also a threat to his teammates when it comes to taking the title of best mid-range shooter.
