One of the most-talked-about injuries in recent years is that of Klay Thompson. After such a lengthy recovery process from two major injuries, the Golden State Warriors star is finally set for a return to the court for the 2021-22 season. Dubs head coach Steve Kerr recently provided an update on Thompson's road to recovery, and it's certainly going to get Warriors fans excited.

It's no secret that Klay has been making significant strides in his rehab and that he's aiming to be ready for Golden State's season opener. However, to hear such an encouraging update from Kerr is definitely something that will hype up any Dubs fan:

“Good news is [that] really been diligent with his work,” Kerr said on a recent interview on Damon, Ratto and Kolsky on 95.7 The Game, via Jas Kang of Golden State of Mind. “He and Rick Celebrini have worked closely all summer, he’s right on schedule. He’s been on the floor running now for the last few weeks. I think the light is finally at the end of the tunnel.

“But you know, we get close to the season, and he gets closer and closer, we’re obviously going to be very, very careful and we’ll lean on the advice of our training staff to let us know when he’s ready to play.”

There you have it, folks. Straight from Steve Kerr himself. While he opted against stating a firm timetable on Thompson's return date, what we can conclude from this update is that the Warriors sharpshooter is getting very close. At this point, it would not be improbable to think that Thompson is going to be in the Warriors starting lineup come opening night.
