The Golden State Warriors pulled out all the stops Friday night when they beat the Detroit Pistons.

But the defending NBA champions were without one of their best players in Stephen Curry due to an ankle injury that has him sidelined for the next few weeks.

And while Warriors head coach Steve Kerr thinks Curry's injury is, in some ways, a good thing, it definitely seemed like he and the rest of the team really missed him against Detroit, per Rod Beard of the Detroit News.

Curry being out is going to be tough on the Warriors. His shooting and ball handling make the team so dynamic and incredibly hard to guard.

Without him, the Warriors don't have the same spacing and can't attack pick-and-rolls the same way. Also, their entire philosophy on how to attack switches changes.

Those split cuts aren't exactly the same with Shaun Livingston or Quinn Cook, either.

But fortunately for Golden State, they have NBA Finals MVP and multiple-time scoring champion Kevin Durant on their team to settle things down. He had another stellar performance on Friday, almost notching his second triple-double in about a week.

But make no mistake: The Warriors need Curry, and will welcome him back with open Durant-sized arms when he returns.
