When you think of the Golden State Warriors, the first thing that almost surely comes to your mind is the dynasty that won three championships and reached five NBA Finals between 2015 and 2019.

But perhaps the best story in franchise history actually occurred when the Warriors made the playoffs as a No. 8 seed back in 2007.

Who could forget the “We Believe” Warriors, who won just 42 games during the regular season but proceeded to upset the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks (who won 67 games) in the first round of the playoffs.

Those of you who loved that team are about to love this little nugget: there may be a documentary on the way.

No, seriously.

During an appearance on Bill Simmons' podcast on Friday, former Dubs forward Matt Barnes said that a “We Believe” documentary is in the works.

Details are skimpy at this point, but Barnes added that he sat down with Baron Davis — Golden State's electrifying point guard throughout that run — recently and that they were “rehashing” old times.

While I'm not sure how much nationwide interest a 2007 Warriors documentary would garner, it would definitely be very well-received in the Bay Area.

Coached by Don Nelson, that Dubs club was one of the most exciting teams in the league that year, utilizing a fast-paced offense to blitz its opponents.

Back at that time, the game was not as fast as it is today, so what Golden State was doing was certainly out of the norm.

The Dubs ended up losing to the Utah Jazz in five games in the second round, but the memories from that postseason still linger in the Bay.
