Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is beyond excited to have Leandro Barbosa and Shaun Livingston back in the organization.

During an interview with Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Kerr talked about why he's so thrilled to have Barbosa and Livingston join the franchise.

“We need some young legs on our coaching staff and our players need mentors,” the Warriors tactician said.

“That’s one of the things I’m so excited about for both Leandro and Shaun joining us. The players need someone they can talk to, go to and ask what it’s like and get an answer from someone who has been in their shoes, literally, in the last couple years. Both LB and Shaun are just huge additions to our organization.”

Leandro Barbosa won the 2015 title with the Warriors, while Shaun Livingston captured three during the Dubs' epic Finals run from 2015 to 2019.

The Warriors are expected to be playoff contenders again next season after finishing with the worst record in the league in 2019-20. All-Stars Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green will be back leading the way as a threesome, while former No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins will serve as the fourth option.

Golden State also has the second overall pick in the 2020 draft, so Steve Kerr and Co. have plenty of options in play.

Most pundits believe the Warriors want to package the pick for a star player, although unlike in past years, there isn't a disgruntled star out there available via trade.
