On Monday, the Golden State Warriors released some pleasing updates on star shooting guard Klay Thompson and second-year center James Wiseman. Both players are out with injuries but are both making progress.

Wiseman's injury late last season played a part in the Warrior's downfall, and it definitely hurt the progression of his rookie season. The center never got comfortable playing last season, and every time he took a step forward, something made him take two steps back.

The last step caused the meniscus injury. When Wiseman started to play some good basketball, he went down for good, at a juncture of the season where the team needed him most.

The former All-Star Klay Thompson is probably the biggest reason the Warriors have struggled and missed the playoffs the last two years. It's nearly impossible to replace a player of his caliber. No matter what the Warriors tried, it wasn't enough.

Last season Thompson attended more games than he did the year prior as he tried to help lead his team from the sidelines. You can see the frustration on his face when watching his team go through these difficult times. As much as everyone wants to see him back on the floor, nobody wants to see it more than Thompson.

Having Thompson and Wiseman in the lineup together for the first time will be great news for the Warriors and their fans. Although it won't be opening night, this update indicates it will happen soon. The wait is almost over, and that's a reason to be excited.
