The Golden State Warriors already have one of most talented rosters in the entire NBA today, and maybe even of all-time. With two former MVPs in their prime, along with a reigning Defensive Player of the Year, a three-time All-Star and a former Finals MVP in their fold, they have become the winningest team in the past three years, including two titles under their belts. However, that does not necessarily mean they cannot set their eyes on another superstar and bring him in to Oakland.

Rumors are now swirling that the Dubs are targeting New Orleans Pelicans star big man Anthony Davis if he opts out of his contract after the 2019-20 season, according to Tim Kawakami of The Athletic.

Let that sink in first.

If the Warriors become successful in acquiring Davis and have him play alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, it will not only change the landscape of the entire league, but will also strengthen the team's bid to have a dynasty. That starting five is undoubtedly good on paper, and will definitely make the need to form “super teams” almost a need for a franchise if they want to contend for a championship.

Signing Davis will have a lot of challenges though, as the salary cap may pose as a hurdle even the skills and knowledge of the Warriors front office could find very hard to overcome. The four-time All-Star may also opt to remain with the Pelicans or sign with another team where he can play a bigger role and further solidify his case as one of the best power forwards ever.

The defending champions have proven that they know how to play their cards right, and the perfect example of it is when they were able to lure Durant in the summer of 2016 and still keep their core intact a year after. It may seem like they only have a small chance of landing Davis, especially with the number of teams expected to pursue him, but it's also very hard to count the Dubs out, as the appeal of playing alongside established stars and the promise of winning championships could be more than enough for The Brow to join their party.
