The Golden State Warriors will have a top pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, but it doesn't appear they have any interest in drafting LaMelo Ball.

Per Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Warriors aren't high on LaMelo, who is the younger brother of New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball:

Very, very low. League sources don’t believe the Warriors are high on Ball — not because of the drama surrounding his father, but because he’s quite flawed for a top-3 prospect.

Ball’s court vision and passing ability are superb, but he has yet to prove he can knock down 3-pointers consistently, defend NBA athletes or improve his shot selection. There’s also the matter of positional fit. Ball projects as a point guard at the next level, and the Warriors already have a pretty darn good one in Curry.

LaMelo Ball played 12 games in the NBL before suffering a foot injury. He averaged 17.0 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists.

The Warriors will have superstars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson back together again next season in the backcourt. Steph and Klay will be followed by Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins on the Warriors' hierarchy.

Before the NBA suspended the 2019-20 season, the Dubs had the worst record in the league. The Warriors were on their way to missing the postseason for the first time in the Steve Kerr era.

LaMelo can hit 3s, but he’s a very streaky shooter. Look for the Warriors to address their front court with their draft pick.
