The Golden State Warriors finally have a first-round selection in this year's NBA Draft, but that won't keep them from following a two-year tradition of trying their luck by purchasing a second-round pick.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski said during a recent episode of On The Clock that the Warriors will be on the market for a second rounder, having purchased the 38th overall selection from the Milwaukee Bucks (Patrick McCaw) in 2016 and the 35th overall pick from the Chicago Bulls in 2017 (Jordan Bell).

Both players played a role within the team, who has prioritized drafting able defenders during the past two years. McCaw had a crucial stint with the team during the 2017 NBA Finals, and Jordan Bell did it during this year's Finals — showing that the Warriors will try to get immediate help rather than stashing a product to develop, as they've done with the likes of Kevon Looney, Damian Jones, and Bell's college teammate Chris Boucher.

The Warriors could be looking at a talent like Ohio State's Kenta Bates-Diop with their 28th overall selection in the first round, but will hope spending money in a second-rounder could prove an answer to their team depth, already bound to be elbows deep into the luxury tax after signing Kevin Durant to a deal.
