With possession of the second overall pick in the upcoming draft, the Golden State Warriors are in a great position to improve their roster for the 2020-21 campaign ahead.

According to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, everything is on the table for the Dubs. They could keep the pick or potentially make a big trade. There have been rumors of their interest in Anthony Edwards, but he could go No. 1 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Whether Edwards is available or not, O'Connor is hearing that the Warriors want a wing:

Sources from multiple front offices believe Golden State’s preference is to draft a wing. That could mean Edwards, who has size. But Edwards is a shaky decision-maker at this stage of his career.

While Edwards may have his caveats, there is no denying that this raw prospect has the makings of a star in the future. Whether or not this fits the bill for the Warriors, though, is an altogether different matter.

If Edwards is off the board, Deni Avdija could be an enticing option for Golden State's roster. The Warriors could look to trade down in this scenario:

Avdija makes logical sense as a highly experienced player who projects as a versatile 6-foot-9 forward with playmaking skills. Ideally, the Warriors would be able to trade down for him since two bigger name prospects are still on the board.

While there is no way to tell for sure how the Warriors will approach the upcoming draft, what is clear is that they are in a very advantageous position. A healthy Dubs side is already expected to be a serious threat to win the title in 2021, and the addition of a budding star in the draft (or via trade with the pick) should only help their cause.
