According to the most recent reporting, popular fan theory having Dwight Howard joining the Golden State Warriors is unlikely to happen.

Howard, who was sent to the Brooklyn Nets after a solid stint with the Charlotte Hornets, has widely been expected to inevitably end up joining a contender when the Nets buy his veteran big frame out. That being said, according to Marc Stein, the contender probably won't be the Warriors.

Here is Stein on the meanest streets around, Twitter, letting us know dilly:

If LeBron James ends up staying with the Cleveland Cavaliers, or joining a franchise with some room to bring on Dwight Howard, fully expect that to be the next place for him to be rumored to go.

Speaking of Howard, for as much poop people hurl toward his general direction for his aloofness, he's still a solid player. While nowhere near the Megalodon people projected for him when coming out of high school, and clearly no longer the player he was when with the Orlando Magic, he still rebounds at an excellent clip and is an above average defender.

He doesn't seem right to go to a team on the wrong side of winning at this point in his career. He can certainly help a contender, though, which is why he's most often linked to already good franchises.
