The Golden State Warriors have two picks in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft at No. 7 and 14. However, there is a rumor swirling that the Warriors could use trade that seventh overall pick and rookie James Wiseman to strengthen their roster. Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam is mentioned as a target.

Via The Athletic's John Hollinger:

Golden State assured itself of an additional first-round pick when Minnesota failed to land in the top three on lottery night. The Warriors now have the seventh and 14th picks plus last year’s second overall pick, James Wiseman, and there is a widespread expectation that the Warriors will use No. 7 and Wiseman, in particular, to seek more immediate upgrades to the roster. One name to watch: Pascal Siakam.

Well, this is interesting to say the least. The Warriors recently voiced they weren't planning to engage in any trade talks for their young center. However, it's clear that Golden State does need more help around Stephen Curry. Siakam would certainly be a nice addition.

The Raptors star averaged 21.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 2020-21, despite Toronto missing out on the playoffs. There was also some clear animosity between Siakam and head coach Nick Nurse. A trade to the Warriors could end up being a good thing for the Cameroonian.

Toronto, meanwhile, needs a legitimate center after struggling to have a consistent inside presence last season. Wiseman would get lots of playing time and potentially develop into a franchise piece for the 2019 NBA champions. While these are just rumors at this point, we'll ultimately see what the Warriors pull off come draft night.
