The Golden State Warriors take on the Los Angeles Clippers Monday night at Staples Center and will be without star point guard Stephen Curry, according to ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly.

Stephen Curry has a mild to moderate left groin strain. The two-time league MVP suffered the injury last Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks at home.

Curry scored just 10 points versus the Bucks on 5-of-14 shooting from the field before exiting in the third quarter. The Warriors lost by a final score of 134-111.

Stephen Curry is averaging 29.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.1 assists through 12 games this year while shooting 51.5 percent from the floor, 49.2 percent from beyond the arc and 92.3 percent from the free-throw line. It's a long season and the Warriors need a healthy Stephen Curry for the playoffs. There's no reason to play the sharpshooter this early in the season if he's not 100 percent.

Stephen Curry told reporters Saturday he's never had this kind of ailment before, so he's not sure how long it's going to take him to recover. Luckily for Golden State, they have Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson to shoulder the offensive load while Curry is out.

The Warriors have the number one offense in the NBA right now. Golden State is scoring 121.9 points per game. They also rank first in the league in offensive rating.
