Covering interviews of NBA players is by all means not an easy task. Reporters are not guaranteed to have the chance to ask them questions they want to receive answers on, and their cameramen also need to make sure they capture every moment of the media sessions. That means battling for position and going up against their counterparts from different sports outlets.

That was exactly the case during an interview session with Golden State Warriors star forward Kevin Durant, as two cameramen got into a heated moment and had some NSFW words for one another. Their exchange forced the reigning Finals MVP to pause in the middle of his statement to check what’s going on at the back.

The good is that Dubs security made sure the situation did not escalate further as cooler heads prevailed and the two were prevented from turning it into a full blown fight. The interview then went according to plan, with Durant answering more questions after the short altercation.

The clip only goes to show that even cameramen can be involved in such skirmishes as they all want to cover interviews with the best of their abilities. Positioning is definitely an important part of it which may have caused the two to get at it as they continued to jockey for position to capture the best angle of Durant and their reporter near him. It’s all part of the job and what’s important is no one got harmed and everyone present was able to cover the session.
