Nick Young wasn't the player the Golden State Warriors wanted him to be last season. He showed up to training camp out of shape and took longer than Steve Kerr would have liked to better his conditioning, never quite figured out how to execute Golden State's defensive scheme, and was a more inconsistent shooter than his role and shot-making talented suggested he should be.

Nevertheless, Young quickly emerged as a fan favorite for the Warriors due to his fun-loving ways and perpetual smile. Even Kerr, often frustrated by the player who dubbed himself “Swaggy P,” fondly recalls his time playing in Golden State.

On Friday night, Draymond Green presented his former teammate with the championship ring Young one with the Warriors during his single-season stint in the Bay.

Awesome.

Young, by the way, still had his moments last season despite failing to live up to expectations. Most notably, at least to Kerr, was the three-pointer he hit midway the third quarter of Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, as Golden State was trying to claw back from a double-digit halftime deficit to the Houston Rockets.

“Biggest moment of the season. It didn’t surprise me at all that Nick knocked down that shot because Nick doesn’t care,” a smiling Kerr told KNBR.

Young, 33, went unsigned in free agency over the offseason. He signed a deal with the Denver Nuggets in December via the injury hardship exception, appearing in just four games for Mike Malone's team before being released on December 30th.
