Late in the third quarter against the Phoenix Suns, the Golden State Warriors had a hiccup during a free throw. As Kelly Oubre threw his shot from behind the line, the Warriors didn't even attempt to corral the rebound.

Sometimes the Warriors have a difficult time keeping up their effort. They are such a talented team but they can become apathetic, especially during a random regular season game a week before the All-Star game.

Ironically enough, the Warriors have been struggling to remain consistent all season long. Klay Thompson has had the worst shooting percentages of his entire career. So has Draymond Green. His athleticism is also waning. The team had to rely solely on Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry having big games every night. Their lack of depth hurt.

It took until mid-January for their superstar center DeMarcus Cousins to return. He provides them with a post presence and somebody who could protect the rim. The team really hasn't had either of those since perhaps Andrew Bogut, if even that counts, three years ago.

Cousins also provides head coach Steve Kerr with options for his rotations. Kerr can stagger his stars across the entirety of the game with another star on the floor at all times.

For the Suns, they are a rising but still young and rebuilding team. Their core of DeAndre Ayton and Devin Booker is a great start. However, they should be looking to add assets through free agency this offseason. This also includes their top draft pick that will likely be in the lottery. The future is bright in the desert.
