Kevin Durant and Josh Hart got into a slightly heated ball-throwing contest in the third quarter of the Golden State Warriors-Los Angeles Lakers showdown in Oracle Arena on Saturday night.

The referees both issued Durant and Hart with technical fouls for the altercation, which, fortunately, did not spill to a physical scuffle.

Durant allegedly told Hart to “stop flopping” before the two eventually played hot potato with the basketball.

The two-time Finals MVP clearly thought Hart faked his fall in order to get the offensive foul call on Durant, which the referees gave to him.

The Lakers, who were without LeBron James, had gone on a big run to take a nine-point lead in the middle of the third quarter. The game was definitely getting heated, as this incident happened shortly after DeMarcus Cousins stared down over Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma after putting him on a nasty poster.

The mean throwdown from Cousins proved to be the momentum-swinging play for the Warriors, as they eventually gained control and never looked back from that point on. Golden State used a 27-15 fourth-quarter run to exact its revenge from their Christmas Day loss at the hands of the Lakers.

Kevin Durant finished the game with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting and added five rebounds and 11 assists. Klay Thompson top-scored for the Warriors with 28 points and four three-pointers, while DeMarcus Cousins and Andre Iguodala contributed 18 and 17 points, respectively. Superstar guard Stephen Curry had a rough night through three quarters, but caught fire in the fourth, scoring 12 of his 14 points in the final period.

The Lakers, on the other hand, put up a valiant effort despite missing its superstar leader. Brandon Ingram led the way with 20 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Rajon Rondo notched a near-triple-double of 12 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds.
