On this day in 2007, the Golden State Warriors pulled off one of the most epic playoff upsets in NBA history, taking down MVP Dirk Nowitzki and the 67-win Dallas Mavericks in six games in the first round.

Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, co-hosts of the All The Smoke podcast and “We Believe” Warriors teammates, reflected on their upset and the postgame celebration that may have been more epic than the basketball, which included an “epic smoke session” with Snoop Dogg.

After getting started at Jackson's house — Baron Davis brought Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba and Owen Wilson —  the party continued at Warriors head coach Don Nelson's penthouse suite:

“Nellie has the whole floor at Jack's complex, he had the penthouse, the whole roof was his,” Barnes remembered.

“As soon as we get there, this is all you hear: ‘Fellas! Woody Harrelson's in the back rolling doobies!'” Captain Jack recalled.

Nelson farms marijuana today, so this was nothing new for him. Next, they ended up with another famous weed enthusiast:

“Another person that happened to be in town was Snoop,” Barnes said. “We go to the Ritz-Carlton now … it was the most epic smoking session ever …”

Barnes said they “ordered everything off the menu,” but a second “police knock” after room service put a scare into the Warriors, as they were “still in season.”

Fortunately, Snoop had some clutch special treatment, as the hotel staff unscrewed the windows and congratulated the guys on a good game:

“We get that knock, they come and pull our ass out of the room. With Snoop, they come open windows for him,” Jackson said.

Watch Barnes and Jackson recap their epic, hazy night:

Truly epic.

While that Warriors team ultimately lost to the Utah Jazz in the next round, this squad will always be legendary.
