One of the scarier injuries of the NBA season took place on Saturday night during the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings.

Near the end of the third quarter, Patrick McCaw was going up for a layup when he was undercut by Vince Carter. McCaw landed hard on his back and eventually had to be taken off on a stretcher.

Carter was visibly upset after the play and took it as hard as just about anyone. After the game it was an interesting guy who was consoling Carter though. Zaza Pachulia who has been known for his share of dirty plays in his career put his arm around Carter and said a few words to him.

Here is a look at the video.

Carter then went over to Warriors coach Steve Kerr and said a few words to him. Carter has never been known a dirty player and seeing his reaction it sure appears that nothing he did during that play was intentional.

After the game when Kerr had his postgame media scrum he refused to answer questions about the game, instead only answering questions about McCaw and his health.

For McCaw he was transported to the UC Davis hospital for further testing. According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, McCaw initially felt numbness in his leg from the fall but has since regained feeling in them.

There have been no other updates about McCaw's condition since then but the fact that he regained feeling in his legs is huge in terms of the long-term effects that the fall will have on him.
