The start of the Eurobasket 2017 tournament is still a week away, but Georgia may have already suffered a huge setback in their quest to bring basketball glory to their country.

News came out recently that their most decorated player in Golden State Warriors center Zaza Pachulia, is in danger of missing out on the tournament because of an apparent ankle injury. It doesn’t appear to be very serious, but with only a month before the opening of the NBA defending champs’ training camp, he may need to rest it in order to be back to 100 percent the soonest.

However, the latest report to come out of international basketball authority David Pick's sources states that Pachulia will remain active.

The Georgian national team has been making strides in Europe, and have beaten powerhouses Lithuania, Greece, and Serbia in exhibition games earlier this year.

Zaza Pachulia will be a curious case for Georgia, and also Oakland who will keep a close watch on its player, come EuroBasket as his health remains in limbo in the midst of two important commitments.
