Rivera's team did get bad news after the game despite the win, as star pass rusher Chase Young suffered a season-ending injury. This is a crushing blow for the defense that has played at such a high level, but

Washington now faces a Carolina Panthers team that is coming off of a huge 34-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals. It was Cam Newton's first game with the team, but he served as the backup. This week, he will get the start and face the tough Washington defense. With that said, here are four bold predictions for Washington's Week 11 matchup against the Panthers.

Washington Football Team Week 11 Predictions

4. Taylor Heinicke throws three touchdowns

Taylor Heinicke has been a decent quarterback in his two seasons with Washington but has not had many dominant performances. They are going up against a good Carolina defense that has talent at all three levels. While it will be a challenge for Heinicke and the offense, they should be able to have success.

Getting the run game going early can set up the play-action attack for them and create easy throws for Heinicke. On the season, he has thrown for 2,184 yards along with 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions. His numbers aren't great, but he has the talent to get it done against the Panthers' ferocious defense.

3. Terry McLaurin goes over 100 yards

Terry McLaurin has been a fantastic receiver since entering the league last season. He has quickly become a star and is a nightmare for defenses to go up against. Last week against the Buccaneers, he had six receptions for 59 yards.

It wasn't one of his best games, but he still had an impact on the game. On the season, McLaurin has 49 receptions for 632 yards and four touchdowns. His route running ability and speed make him a tough cover for Carolina, and they will have trouble containing him.

2. Defense forces multiple turnovers

Although Chase Young is out for the season, Washington still has an elite defense. They will be going up against Cam Newton, who will be making his first start of the season. Newton had a turnover problem last season with the New England Patriots, throwing ten interceptions and fumbling six times.

Newton and the Panthers could have a huge turnover problem with a talented defense on the other side. If Washington's defense can pick off a Brady twice, then they should have great success against Carolina.

1. Washington wins in a close game

This game should be a tight contest as both teams are fighting to earn a Wild Card spot. It's primed to be a close game as Washington and Carolina are evenly matched talent-wise. The game could come down to Newton's familiarity with the Panthers' offense, as it is only his second week. Going up against an elite defense will be a challenge for the Newton and will give Washington the advantage.

This game will be vital for both teams as every game remaining could be the difference between making the postseason or missing it.
