Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is going to try to erase this play from his memory as quickly as possible. In the first quarter of Tuesday night's clash against the Washington Football Team, Jalen Hurts threw a short pass to Goedert along the sideline. The tight end dropped the easy catch that would have led to a big gain. Well, the lack of yardage wasn't the only costly thing to come from the drop, as Washington DB Landon Collins actually managed to intercept the ball after it bounced off Goedert's heel.

In a moment that would have gone unnoticed had Collins not been adamant that the play get reviewed, footage shows that the ball never touched the ground between Goedert dropping it and Collins scooping it up, having instead bounced off the heel of Goedert's cleat.

Upon review, the interception was awarded to Collins and the ball was given to Washington, much to the dismay of Eagles fans, who are well aware how close they were to simply having the play ruled an incompletion and moving on with the game. Instead, Washington was able to take the turnover and turn it into a touchdown courtesy of Antonio Gibson, giving them an early lead over their division rivals.

You have to feel for Goedert after this one. While the tight end dropped an easy catch, the consequences of that drop were far more severe than they should have been, and he'll feel responsible for the deficit the Eagles find themselves in during the critical Week 15 matchup against the Football Team.
