The Washington Football team has been dealing with a massive COVID-19 outbreak. Over 20 players have been added to the reserve/COVID list as Washington is one of several NFL teams to get hit hard by the virus. The Football Team sustained another blow ahead of their game against the Philadelphia Eagles, as starting quarterback Taylor Heinicke was placed on the reserve/COVID list, forcing the team to sign a new signal-caller, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Taylor Heinicke, who was just able to return to practice as a full participant amid elbow and knee injuries, is now the latest Washington player to be placed on the reserve/COVID list. Heinicke has reportedly tested positive for the virus, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Washington also lost backup quarterback Kyle Allen to the COVID list forcing the franchise to sign quarterback Garrett Gilbert off of the practice squad ahead of their matchup with the Eagles. Gilbert, a three-year veteran, has attempted 38 passes in his NFL career, throwing exactly one touchdown and one interception.

In other words, this is absolutely awful for the Washington Football Team. The Eagles defense, while forced to gameplan for multiple different signal-callers- Heinicke and Allen- will now get an easier matchup against Gilbert, who simply isn't an experienced NFL signal-caller.

The tough news just keeps on coming for the Washington Football Team after the latest update on Taylor Heinicke.
