The Washington Football Team (WFT) is currently riding a four-game winning streak and is nipping at the heels of the Dallas Cowboys for first place in the NFC East Division. With two of their next three games against each other, the division could be decided before the New Year. That starts this week in Maryland as the Cowboys face WFT as four-point favorites.

That number was brought up to Rivera, who happily accepted the role as the underdog in this fight by portraying his team as David and the Cowboys as Goliath, from the epic biblical battle.

Rivera sure knows how to keep his team motivated, as earlier in the year it seemed that WFT was going nowhere fast and had fans looking towards the 2022 draft already. He has kept the team together through it all, however, and has WFT ready to fight for the division. He even has quarterback Taylor Heinecke playing at a high level and that will be important for this team as they will not have Ryan Fitzpatrick down the stretch run.

At this point in the season, though, all you can ask for is a chance to control your destiny and not depend on other teams to win or lose for you to get your playoff spot. That is the opportunity that is in front of Rivera and the entire Washington franchise, the only problem is…the Cowboys also control their destiny and probably only need to beat WFT once out of the two games to secure the division. It's gonna be a wild few weeks in the NFC East, so get your popcorn ready.
