Washington Football Team's search for a new quarterback is now over. They have found their man in Curtis Samuel who has reportedly agreed to a $34.5 million deal for the next three years, as the former Carolina Panthers wide receiver reunites with fellow WR Terry McLaurin in Washington.

Samuel will now reunite with former Ohio State teammate Terry McLaurin in Washington:
Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel were both members of Ohio State’s 2014 recruiting class. Teammates in college, now reuniting in the NFL. https://t.co/P4OI6iaNEg

It is also worth noting that Samuel was a hot prospect on the trade market last year. There were a number of teams that were linked to the 24-year-old, which also happened to include Washington:
Fun fact: Washington coach Ron Rivera tried to trade for WR Curtis Samuel last season, but #Panthers GM Marty Hurney refused. Now, they are together with Samuel… and didn’t give up a draft pick. https://t.co/tRVFgedbaK

Needless to say, Samuel has been on Washington's radar for quite some time now, and they have decided to act quickly as soon as Carolina decided to part ways with the wide receiver. The good news for Washington is that they did not have to forgo any of their assets in order to bring Samuel to the team. They will, however, need to shell out roughly $12 million per year in salaries. This is a steep price to pay, but considering how they've had their eye on Samuel for an extended period, it is clear that Washington believes this is going to be a sound investment.
The Panthers, on the other hand, who were unwilling to meet Samuel's wage demands, lose a stud in Samuel. Carolina currently has a number of free agent decisions they need to address in the offseason, and as it turns out, Samuel no longer fit in their long-term plans.
