Check out how the developers of Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd over at miHoYo to bring us the collab event coming later this Summer.

MiHoYo has become somewhat of a giant in the gaming scene over the past year with their Genshin Impact open-world ARPG. But a lot of the game's fans aren't aware of another great title by miHoYo: Honkai Impact 3rd. MiHoYo is looking to end that. The in-house teams of Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact came together and prepared a one-of-a-kind event. To do this, Genshin developers and character designers worked with the Honkai team to design the crossover event. In this crossover event, Genshin‘s Fischl will become Honkai‘s first playable Archer character.

Genshin Impact‘s Fischl arrives in Honkai Impact 3rd v 4.9

A behind-the-scenes video shows us how the two teams worked together to make the event happen. This includes collaboration between the character designers, making sure that the Honkai version of Fischl will fit in the universe without compromising her style and personality from Genshin Impact. This also meant reworking her skillset, which is now built around weakspot aiming, allowing players to amp up the damage and hit feedback by aiming for the weakspots of enemies before firing. The devs also gave Oz, Fischl's companion, a rework to make him fit better in Honkai‘s world. Of course, the rework won't be complete without an updated model design. We're excited to see the work of the devs take fruit in the collaboration event, coming out later this Summer as Honkai Impact 3rd v 4.9 comes out.

While Fischl will become a permanent member of the Honkai Impact 3rd universe, another Genshin Impact character will appear in-game. Keqing also appears as a playable character, but only during the event quest. Keqing originally appears in early plans of the collaboration event just as an NPC. However, the devs felt it a waste to bring in Keqing only as an NPC. Hence, the devs took the opportunity to completely design her character so players can play as her as well, albeit temporarily. Klee also appears in the game, but as an alternate costume for Theresa.
