With the recent loss of super-star Dwayne Wade, the Miami Heat have picked up Brooklyn Nets free-agent guard Wayne Ellington on a two-year, $12 million-plus deal.  The Heat have the team option on year two.

The journey man, Ellington completed his 7th year with the Nets averaging 7.7 points in 76 games with 41 starts.

Ellington posted on Instagram that he was “super excited to be a part of a first class organization!”

The Heat had $19 million in cap space with the controversial departure of Dwyane Wade to the Chicago Bulls.

Ellington fills the gap for the Heat's lack of an effective a 3-point shooter.

In December of last year, he starred against the Heat scoring 26 points, including three fourth-quarter 3-pointers that handed the Nets the win.

Ellington is no Dwayne Wade, but is a good fit in the current Heat dynamic.
