Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson tweeted out a cryptic message in the wake of more befuddling comments by manager Tony La Russa.

La Russa defended comments he made Tuesday night regarding his displeasure with Yermin Mercedes homering on a 3-0 pitch with the White Sox holding a 15-4 lead over the Minnesota Twins on Monday. He continuously used buzzwords like “sportsmanship” and doubled down on the idea he was fine with how the Twins handled the situation after reliever Tyler Duffey threw behind Mercedes on Tuesday.

Anderson doesn't exactly appear to jell with his new manager's mindset. He tweeted “don't see and don't hear” shortly after La Russa's latest press conference.

This is hardly the first sign of dissension from Anderson. The former batting champion also commented on one of Mercedes' Instagram photos encouraging the breakout White Sox star not to change anything about the way he plays the game.

La Russa publicly blasted Mercedes as a “clueless” rookie and openly stated he was perfectly OK with the Twins throwing at one of his own players. Conversely, Anderson has consistently shown support and was on the top step of the dugout screaming at Duffey after he threw behind Mercedes.

It should be stated the White Sox have one of the best records in baseball and sit atop the American League Central.

Yet, the events of the past couple days have highlighted the disconnect between La Russa's old-school mentality and the guys in the White Sox clubhouse.

Just what exactly that means going forward is unclear. La Russa's job would not seem to be in danger, at least not yet.

Either way, Anderson suggested he and his teammates will block out the noise — from outside and within — and keep doing things their way.
