The Miami Dolphins will likely enter NFL free agency next week with more cap room than any other team in the league, possessing around $90 million in space.

That's good news for a Dolphins club that has more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese that a hungry mouse got into.

While quarterback is certainly Miami's most pressing need, the Dolphins will likely take care of that in the draft next month, which should allow them to focus more on other areas.

One such area should be the pass rush, where Miami is in dire need of assistance.

In 2019, the Dolphins amassed a grand total of 23 sacks, which ranked last in the NFL. Their leading sack-getter? Former Dallas Cowboys outcast Taco Charlton, who finished with five.

Clearly, Miami needs some more talent on the defensive side of the ball, as it ranked 30th in defense in general. But there is no question that the Dolphins' biggest need is the pass rush, which is generally where most great defenses start.

Fortunately for Miami, it will have its pick of talented pass rushers on the free-agent market this offseason. Well, for those who would actually be willing to play for the Dolphins, anyway.

But I mean, even though Miami is far from a contender, if it shows someone a big check, which it is fully capable of doing, it will have a shot at bringing in someone of significance.

One name the Dolphins should be looking at is Dante Fowler.

Fowler spent the 2019 campaign with the Los Angeles Rams and had the best year of his career, racking up 58 tackles, 11.5 sacks, a couple of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown.

The Rams would certainly like to re-sign Fowler, but he may be out of their price range, as they have limited cap space, and they are not expected to slap a franchise tag on the linebacker.

Enter the Dolphins, who certainly have enough money to throw a big contract at Fowler.

The best part about Fowler is that he is just 25 years old (he turns 26 in August), so he can absolutely fit into their rebuilding effort, which actually seemed to be expedited a bit this past season when they won a surprising five games (some people thought they could go winless).

Just how dominant is Fowler? We don't really know for sure, as his first three NFL seasons between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Rams from 2016 through 2018 were rather inconsistent. But perhaps he finally realized his talent in 2019?

Fowler was the third overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft for a reason. The kid can be a force, and he does seem to have the potential to be the best player—or at least one of the best players—on a good defense.

He is young, ascending and is clearly talented. Yes, he will be expensive, but what is the point of having a ton of cap room if you aren't going to use it?

Because of Fowler's combination of youth and ability, he is a perfect fit for a rebuilding Miami squad that is in dire need of a legitimate pass rusher.
